MEET OUR NEW
INSTRUCTOR
Teralyn
Tanner
The Charleston Acting Studio is pleased and
proud to introduce our new Acting Instructor,
Teralyn Tanner, who joins the faculty of the
Charleston Acting Studio with a wealth of
valuable experience, teaching acting to children
and adults all over the world.

Teralyn started out as a very shy child..  She
discovered theatre in college and never looked
back.  After graduating with a BA from Lander
University she joined Missoula Children’s
Theatre and traveled throughout the United
States and Europe teaching full-scale musicals to
children age 5- 18 each week.  In her four years
with the theatre, she discovered that theatre was
an art accessible to all because it encouraged
the one thing innate in all of us—play!  And not
only is acting fun, but it fosters confidence and a
more articulate, responsive and expressive
identity, which are essential life tools. This
discovery led her to graduate school where she
received an MFA in Acting from the University of
Montana.  Since then, Teralyn worked with the
Montana Repertory Theatre, traveling to schools
and reservations bringing theatre and theatre
education to students and teachers.  And last
year, she worked in Daegu, South Korea
developing a program that used the tools of
theatre to teach children English in a fun,
unconventional way.

Last fall Teralyn earned high accolades when she
starred in the title role of “Educating Rita” at
Midtown/Sheri Grace Productions ‘Theatre B” at
the Charleston Acting Studio.

Teralyn is excited to find a home at Charleston
Acting Studio, and looks forward to teaching,
learning, and growing with everyone involved.
